It all started with my mother. She would bake the best pastries and breads from scratch. The smell would travel throughout our house. Those smells have stayed with me throughout the years. I believed I learned how to bake from one of the best, someone who put love in her baking. Everything she did, she did it with love. After her death from cancer in 2004, I have been trying to find that love for something that she had for cooking and baking. Then it hit me, we both share our love of baking. And through that love of baking whether its cupcakes or brownies, I know I have a connection with her on another level that I didn’t know that was there. Baking is a release, catharsis for stress. Therapy for the soul. Kima’s Konfections was born out of this passion and respect for a woman who instilled many things in me, not just baking. Through my company I hope to share with everyone else a little of what she gave me.
